This isn’t my typical post, but I had to share about a complimentary book that I received as a member of the Bible Gateway Blogger Grid.
I received a copy of the NKJV Thompson Chain-Reference Bible, 2023. New King James Version isn’t my go-to translation, but I spent time this week doing my daily Bible readings out of it. I encourage you to switch up your translations when reading your Bible, sometimes you find a new perspective or an added nugget you haven’t before.
This hardback book is over 2100 pages, and it contains the complete NKJV bible and a comprehensive reference section that includes Bible character studies, an alphabetic and numeric index of topics, plus an NKJV concordance. the other day, I spent over an hour just looking at all the maps, tables, and figures. I will be referencing this book for YEARS to come. If I had to pick just one favorite thing, it was the “Journeys” section. This section focuses on major people figures in the Bible, with timelines and maps explaining where their journeys took them. I’m a visual learner, and this section really resonated with me. For example, being able to see where Joshua was located, and how far it was to the next place helped add context to the words I’ve read so many times.
